Job Description and Qualifications

  • Act as an application specialist to business operations, ensuring effective use of the functionality is included in implemented applications and to provide second level support to business operations in the resolution of issues relating to the functionality of implemented applications. 
  • To operate independently for assignments of medium to high complexity and to support the Application Development team in the translation of business requirements for development and on-going support. 
  • To participate in Testing through the development of test strategies, test matrix, test scripts and test execution and perform causal analysis of reported variances.

Resource shall:

  • Be responsible for the interpretation of business issues and for determining the type of solutions required for addressing the issues. 
  • Apply knowledge of business operations and related system applications to determine if an issue can be resolved by training, operational procedures or program fix.
  • Review vendor and technician assessment of reported issues and the proposed solutions to ensure that the problem will be corrected by the approach assessment and solution outlined.
  • Provide training content for business operations relating to new and improved functions, as well as the delivery of training to the Training department on changes that will require end user training.
  • Ensure that testing standards are promoted in testing strategies, test matrix and test scripts being developed for User Acceptance Testing and execution of these processes. 
  • Assist in development of comprehensive test strategies that detail all major processing cycles and events in the business calendar to ensure adequate coverage of all high and medium risk functions performed and where necessary highlight attendant risks of deviation from accepted norms.   
  • Client Support:
    • Coach trainers and business support units on the application of technology specific to the effective use of application software
    • Work with process engineers to establish productivity enhancement through the effective use of technology
    • Assist business analysts on exploitation of application software in the resolution of business issues
    • Assist business analyst in defining business requirements to meet client’s needs
    • Assist finance and operations staff on the integration of systems and its effect on processing and information management
  • Technology Support:
    • Consult with technology specialists on external design of solution to business requirements
    • Consult with technology specialists on the business integration of systems and its impact on internal design
    • Assist with the evaluation of vendor software for purchase, problem resolution, enhancement and integration
    • Monitor the introduction of all new systems to maintain a high level of business integrations per service level agreements, supports all LANs, WANs, desktop infrastructure, servers, hosts, and PBXs needed to support the institution across the region.
