Sales Manager

We are seeking a qualified sales manager to help keep this engine running with their own skill as well as leadership of a team of driven sales representatives. The ideal sales manager has in-depth knowledge of and experience with the sales process, and excels at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals. We’re seeking a quick learner who has strong negotiating skills — someone with a track record of success who can inspire the same in others. The role demands a leader with a sharp mind and an ability to coach, advise, motivate, or replace sales representatives to build and maintain a high-performance team.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions and campaigns
  • Planning and directing the hiring and training of new Sales Representatives
  • Directing and coordinating all sales activities locally and regionally
  • Preparing sales budgets and projections and approving expenditures
  • Tracking and analysing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics
  • Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service
  • Setting discount rates and determining price schedules
  • Advising distributors and dealers on policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Serving as the face of the organisation to internal and external partners
  • Making data-informed decisions to drive performance and resource allocation
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients
  • Setting sales quotas and goals
  • Overseeing and directing performance of the sales team
  • Identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities
  • Defining and executing territory sales plans
  • Generate leads, and establish and nurture client relationships

Requirements and Skills

  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands customer base and extends global reach
  • Meet with potential clients and grow long-lasting relationships by understanding their needs
  • Track, analyse, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends as they relate to partners and clients
  • Recruit salespeople, set objectives, train and coach, and monitor performance to ensure that assigned tasks and responsibilities are fulfilled
  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop a plan to fill them
  • Ensure that company quotas and standards are met by holding check-ins with sales team to set objectives for the day and to monitor progress
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Five or more years of managing sales within a corporate setting
  • Proven record of success with the entire sales cycle, from planning to closing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Superb leadership ability

Academic Requirements

Bachelors in similar field is preferred.
