Senior Business Analyst (Remote)

One of the pioneer general insurers in the Caribbean region is looking for a Senior Business Analyst (Remote) who can work and also mentor a team of junior business analysts

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Coordinate with business stakeholders to understand the business demand and support prioritization within the overall digital technology roadmap
  • Capture, analyze and document current and future state business processes and rules
  • Gather functional requirements to determine what system/solution requirements are required to meet the desired customer or process needs
  • Gather requirements, conduct analysis, impact assessment (fit-gap) and validate the business need
  • ●        Support project teams through analysis, planning, implementation and closing stages, including:
    • Perform customer journey analysis and mapping, identify non-value steps and pain points in the existing processes and design new slick efficient ways or working.
    • Establish functional and non-functional requirements for new digital systems and solutions
    • Understand and document regulations, ensure that proposed solutions are compliant (for example payment processing regulations)
    • Identify and compare solution options with established requirements, estimate 
    • costs and time requirements for project streams
    • Evaluate risks and predict potential problems
  • Act as a liaison between the business and the IT team
  • Develop quality assurance practices and assessments
  • Assist and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Write reports, instructions, and specifications and create flowcharts
  • Escalate risks and issues to the project manager that could adversely impact the outcome of the project

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
    Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Banking, Finance or related field
  • IIBA-Certified Business Analyst Professional would be an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the General Insurance or Financial industry
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience successfully applying Business Process Improvement methodologies and/or customer journey mapping activities
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on digital technology projects, particularly websites/web-apps, integrated (omni-channel) telephony, workflow-driven line-of-business and data analytics
  • Experience in identifying and analysing data to support decision making
  • Advanced analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Extensive Stakeholder Management skills
  • Excellent Collaboration skills
